AniCura Malpertuus in Destelbergen is a well‑established referral and primary care veterinary hospital offering a broad range of services, from routine health checks to advanced diagnostic imaging, specialised consultations and highly complex surgical procedures. In addition to first‑opinion care, we provide extensive second‑line referral services supported by modern infrastructure and a multidisciplinary team.

To support our continued growth and to further expand our specialist services, we are looking to strengthen our enthusiastic team with a motivated European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology, with a focus on small animals.

Your profile

• You are a European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology, residency‑trained and accredited by a recognised European College.

• You have relevant experience in small animal neurology.

• You are able to independently perform neurological consultations, including full clinical work‑ups and required diagnostics (e.g. blood sampling, CSF collection).

• You take full responsibility for case management and follow‑up throughout the entire treatment process.

• Medical imaging (interpretation and acquisition) can be delegated if desired; however, experience in performing and interpreting CT and MRI scans yourself is considered a strong asset.

• You are able to perform neurosurgical procedures independently. Additionally, you can rely on the support of three experienced veterinarians who routinely perform standard neurological surgeries if needed.

• You organise and deliver continuing education courses for referring and first‑opinion veterinarians.

• You actively contribute to the further development of the neurology department at Malpertuus and play a key role in the continued expansion of our referral care services.

Wie zoeken wij?

• Je bent een Europees Specialist, residency trained en geaccrediteerd binnen een Europees erkend college;

• Je hebt reeds relevante ervaring in veterinaire neurologie bij kleine huisdieren;

• Je kan volledig zelfstandig neurologische consultaties uitvoeren (klinisch opwerken van de patiënt, nodige diagnostiek uitvoeren: bloed- en CSV-afname...);

• Je volgt gedurende het hele proces je patiënten zelf op. Hierbij kan het maken en interpreteren van medische beeldvorming eventueel uitbesteed worden. Maar bij voorkeur kan je zelf ook de CT- en MRI-scan nemen;

• Je kan zelfstandig chirurgische interventies doen. Bijkomend kan je ook beroep doen op drie dierenartsen die standaard neuro operaties kunnen uitvoeren indien nodig;

• Je organiseert cursussen voor eerstelijnsdierenartsen alsook doorverwijsdierenartsen;

• Je bouwt mee aan de verdere ontwikkeling van neurologie binnen Malpertuus en dusdanig help je ook in de verdere uitbouw van onze tweedelijnszorg.

• Een voltijdse of deeltijdse betrekking vrij te bespreken met het praktijkmanagement met als doel een langdurige samenwerking;

• Het team beschikt ook over andere specialisten in orthopedie, chirurgie en revalidatie;

• Wij bieden verschillende soorten medische beeldvorming aan, waaronder: RX, CT-Scan, MRI-Scan, echo, uitgebreide endoscopie (gastroscopie, coloscopie, bronchoscopie, urethroscopie, otoscopie, rhinoscopie, laparoscopie, thoracoscopie, artroscopie...);

• Ondersteuning door het volledige team (zowel dierverpleegkundigen als dierenartsen);

• Als medewerker binnen de AniCura groep heb je toegang tot interessante opleidingen en het delen van kennis tussen verschillende AniCura praktijken in binnen-en buitenland;
