AniCura provides modern, high-quality veterinary care for pets at over 400 European locations and creates peace of mind for pet owners through excellent access and patient safety. Every year, AniCura’s 8,000 passionate veterinary professionals attend to three million companion animal patients.
In Belgium, 18 clinics on 23 locations with close to 350 collaborators, are part of AniCura.
Since 2018, AniCura is part of Mars Veterinary Health, a family-owned company focused on veterinary care.
About our vacancy
As our Talent Acquisition Partner you will lead recruitment processes from start to finish, with a focus on nurses and veterinarians for our hospitals and clinics across Belgium. This role is unique as its both operational and strategic and you will be able to take part in building the Talent Acquisition function.
You will build a plan on how to recruit and attract talents to AniCura across Belgium. You will setup the most efficient ways of sourcing talents, build talent pools to ensure AniCura stays on top of mind of the candidates. The veterinary care industry is made up of many external stakeholders like education, associations and other important industry stakeholders, its therefore important that you enjoy external networking and building relationships especially in the space of Universities.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a recruiter:
- Manage recruitment processes from start to end by working closely with clinics and hospitals to hire and fill vacancies. Key stakeholders are hiring managers and P&O, managers in country and other TA specialists.
- Hold intake meetings with hiring managers, identify and source candidates, create shortlists of candidates by interviewing and evaluating them against the role brief.
- Create talent pools and sourcing strategies for key roles within our organisation.
- Building a strong external network of stakeholders (platforms, universities, interest groups etc) in order to grow the talent pool.
- Organize internal and participate at external recruitment events for vets and nurses.
- Develop a talent acquisition plan for AniCura, based on our overall strategy and objectives.
- Implement an efficient, candidate focused and data driven recruitment process, ways of working and lead (build capabilities) stakeholders through the change.
- Ensure a fantastic candidate experience from the first contact until the person embarks their journey at AniCura.
The role is based in our Belgian head office (Zaventem) but we have a hybrid way of working, so as an employee, you can choose to work from home most of the time. You will be required to visit some hospitals and clinics to establish a good relationship with our key stakeholders.

You are expected to have:
- Relevant University Academic or Bachelor degree or similar
- Ideally a minimum of 5 years of working experience within recruitment, where you have managed recruitment process from start to finish. Its an advantage if you have worked within an inhouse TA function and within the health care or pharma industry.
- In depth knowledge and experience within sourcing of candidates, screening and competency-based interviewing techniques.
- Best in class management of candidates and hiring managers.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to network and talk to different types of people and stakeholders, be it in clinics, at university or with senior leadership.
- Organised, pragmatic, resilient and great at planning.
- Additional advantage if you have previous experience from the (veterinary) care industry or the animal/pet industry.
- Fluent in Dutch and French, both written and verbally. Very good knowledge of English.
